Isi Artikel | The National Police confirmed on Thursday that its general crime directorate (Bareskrim) had summonsed comedian-turned National Mandate Party (PAN) politician Eko Hendro Purnomo for questioning as a result of a statement made by the House of Representatives member, which questioned the police’s recent arrest of alleged terrorists. “Yes, he was asked to come to the police for questioning related to his statement to the newspapers,” National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said as reported by tribunnews.com. Boy said Eko was reported by a police investigator, named Sofyan Armawan, on the basis of Article 207 of the Criminal Code and Law 11/2008 on information and electronic transactions. Boy insisted that the alleged terrorist plot to bomb the State Palace was not staged by police but was genuine. Earlier, several newspapers quoted Eko who said the arrest of the terrorists was a diversion from the blasphemy case implicating Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama. PAN along with three other parties, the Democratic Party, the National Awakening Party and the United Development Party, have nominated Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, the son of former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, as a candidate in the gubernatorial election in February next year. |
